Founded at the turn of the millennium, Temperley London has carved a niche for itself over the intervening three decades. With a unique blend of British eccentricity, a strong signature aesthetic, bohemian spirit, and the spirit of Somerset, the independent brand has reached heritage status. 

The brand launched just a year after Alice Temperley MBE graduated from the Royal College of Art. And over 25 years later, Temperley London continues to push boundaries and defy expectations, while collaborating with leading designers on capsule collections, allowing the company to continue to grow and expand its loyal customer base.

In 2011, Alice was awarded an MBE for services to the Fashion Industry.

Described by American Vogue as making the biggest waves in British fashion in 2006, Temperley London has won many prestigious awards over the years, including English Print Designer of the Year at Indigo, ELLE's Best Young Designer of the Year Award and Designer of The Year at the Hollywood Style Awards.

In 2006, Temperley Bridal was launched, known for its timeless silhouettes, intricate embellishment and the exquisite craftsmanship that unites Alice’s creations.

Now in the third decade of business, having ridden the waves of change that has altered the fabric of the retail world, the brand has standalone stores across the world. The flagship store is in Sloane Street, London whilst the headquarters and second store are based in Ilminster, Somerset, Phoenix Studios, is home to the Bridal boutique, design atelier, as well as Ready-To-Wear in London and Dubai.

From intricately embroidered gowns and precision tailoring to signature knitwear and refined separates, Temperley London is recognised for craftsmanship, quality and enduring design.

Grounded in a philosophy of slow fashion, we champion a more considered approach — creating pieces designed to be reworn, repaired and treasured over time, with respect for both craftsmanship and longevity.

Replacing the traditional trading calendar, small-batch production drops sit alongside main collections, creating space for greater creativity while celebrating the artisanal skills behind every piece.
