Temperley Autumn Winter 21 riffs on the revolutionary spirit of the late '60s and early '70s. Fizzing with youthful exuberance and inspired by musical style icons. A homage to liberation in spirit, mood and imagination, Temperley Autumn Winter 21 summons hope for a better, brighter, bolder tomorrow.
Tailoring for the season takes on a new direction, expanding with more separates to create multiple looks, carrying the Temperley woman from day to evening. Cotton corduroy tailoring from the Genevieve story – finished with braid trim and embossed gold buttons, offered in skirts, jumpsuits and mini dresses. Alice’s favourite looks include the denim and leather suits. Also, back by popular demand, the three-piece Italian velvet Clove suit comes in rich new colour offerings for the season, echoing Hendrix’s heady Purple Haze.
Knitwear is reimagined for the season in sparkling hues of caramel, plum and forest green, along with decadent leopard jacquard. The soft merino cable knit Calloway cardigan coat and matching sleeveless rollneck mini dress carry the '70s songbird look through colder climes.
Taking a dreamy trip through Woodstock and Glastonbury, the wholesome Rosetta story chimes with a utopian vision of community life lived in nature. Broderie Anglaise detailed with romantic ruffles and scalloped edges, transporting you to whimsical days drifting through meadows. The softness is contrasted with the leather offering for the season, such as the Rebel jacket embroidered with powerful firework motifs and embellished with heavy studs.
The rock and roll era mixes with an Art Nouveau resurgence, through the lens of the late 60s. Stylised petals, blooms and interlacing leaves dance over luxurious fabrics. Inspired by psychedelic posters and record covers, hand-painted peonies, poppies, serpentine stems and acid-tinged foliage weave their way throughout the chiffon and hammered silk of the Lautrec and Avril print stories.
Shimmering sequins in fluid shapes, frills and flared silhouettes in gold lame and leopard printed filcoupe, this season’s eveningwear gives a nod to the 1970’s and Studio 54. Taking centre stage, the Colette jumpsuit with matching kimono is sure to be a firm favourite with the Temperley tribe.
The Somerset story sees fully sustainable and waterproof outerwear made just minutes away from Temperley’s West Country HQ. Lined in cosy fleece and crafted from organic cotton, the Jurassic Coat was inspired by Alice’s love of the Dorset coast and the Kingsbury the need for a chic waterproof mac as a true wardrobe essential.
“Iam so happy with this focused collection, including lots of core shapes that we love paired with directional newness. I am most excited by the fully-sustainable outerwear inspired by country life and the organic cotton Temperley tribe hoodies – all made locally in the UK. There are lots of separates, knits and beautiful prints. I adore the casting for this look book (shot by Carla Guler) and think Ella Richards and Avril Guerrero embody it perfectly.” – Alice Temperley
