Backstage at the Summer '16 show

Summer '16 is filled with an exuberant sense of colour, pattern and rhythm. The mood reflects Cuba and the forbidden yet tempting fantasy of island life – its decadent cultural heritage and the nonchalant and mysterious attitude of its capital city Havana.

Palm leaves adorn silhouettes in both printed and embroidered form. The intricate craftsmanship showcases diverse artisan techniques. Engineered and patch-worked prints, jacquards, complex lace developments and exaggerated appliqué offer many dimensions to this effortless collection.

A tropical toned colour palette of lime greens, oceanic blues, sorbet pinks and deep tobacco evoke the eclectic interiors and back streets of Havana.

Daywear consists of multiple separates including cotton tied ruffle shirts, patch-work printed dresses, engineered lace peasant dresses with full ruffle skirts, relaxed linen culottes and jumpsuits.

Eveningwear is a celebration of textures and opulent prints. Faceted sequins, tassels and mirrored discs alongside satin stitched embroidered flowers which cover tailored waistcoats and jackets. Exaggerated exotic birds are printed on satin jacquard with full ruffles and accents of acid yellows.

Styled with handmade leather soled sandals and wide brimmed panama hats that reflect the laidback attitude of island life.

This is a collection that encompasses day to evening in a vivacious and animated manner whilst being confident, joyful, and ultra feminine.
